Gabrielle Union Launches Baby Clothing Collection with New York & Co.

New York & Co. is branching out to children’s wear. This month, they launched a new capsule collection, Kaavi James by Gabrielle Union, as an extension to Union’s already successful collaboration with the retailer. If you haven’t heard, Gabrielle Union became a mom last November to daughter Kaavia, with husband Dwayne Wade.

What started out as just wanting to make matching outfits that @kaaviajames and I could wear (and our dog Tre 🐶) – transformed into something bigger that includes all babies. The line was inspired by busy moms who need easy, cute and comfortable clothes for their babies… and of course, @kaaviajames’ dynamic personality. The collection ranges in size from 0-24 months and is primarily black and white, with denim chambray, and pops of bright pink and green. Standouts are an adorable french bulldog print (modeled after their real life dog, Tre), an animal print romper, and ruffled tie-dye dress. Many of the pieces have complementing pieces in Gabrielle Union’s women’s wear collection. Prices for the Kaavi James by Gabrielle Union capsule collection range from $14.95-44.95.

“I wanted to create a baby collection because it was a natural progression where I am in my life now, and it has always been important to me to make sure that the collections that I design reflect a part of me and are true to what I think many women can relate to,” Union said to WWD.
