Businesses have started opening up, including nail salons, with some precautions. But if you are like me, you won’t be stepping foot in a nail salon any time soon! In Easy and Chic Quarantine Nails – Part 1, I showed you some gorgeous nail looks you can achieve at home without any extra skills or tricks, just polish. If you are planning on holding out for a while longer, here are a few more simple nail looks to carry you through quarantine and beyond.
Textured Nails
Textures can add interest to any mani whether its glitter, crystals, or sand. Many polishes have all them already in the polish! They’re an easy way to add something “extra” to your mani. Sand texture is my personal favorite; I love to rub them. The downside: They can be difficult to remove. A peel off option like Glazen Peel-Off Glitter Lacquer from Butter London eliminates the need for acetone and nixes the sparkly leftovers that seem to linger for days.
Bright Nails
The simplest way to create an eye-catching mani is a bright polish. How can you NOT look when you notice neon? These bold colors are also guaranteed to bring a smile to your face every time you look at them. The extra shine a gel manicure provides makes bright polish POP and it lasts two to three weeks versus five to seven days for a regular mani! Passports and Parenting can walk you through using Essie’s Gel Couture Polish and Jinxy Beauty shows you how to make any manicure a gel manicure! Beware, gel polish can be more difficult to remove but The Socialite’s Closet has some tips to help.
Nail Strips
Don’t have time to let your nails dry? Nail art the only thing that brings you nail bliss? Can’t stand the smell of polish? Then nail strips are what you need.
These strips of nail polish attach directly to your nails like stickers, then you file off the extra to match your shape. Its best to finish with topcoat for longer wear results (sorry smell sensitive people), but in my experience you can skip it and they will still last about a week.
These strips are super versatile too! I like to use one or two strips on each hand along with my regular manicure for an attention grabbing combo. I also cut my strips to create my own designs and patterns.
