I love Makeup Collections! Collections are often chock full of new or limited edition treats at exceptional prices. Unfortunately, since most collections aren’t customized to you, it is inevitable that you will not like every product. Last week, I finally returned the Tarte Colored Clay 7-Pc Collection I purchased from QVC on Today’s Special Value (TSV). I really wanted to love this collection. Priced at just under $60, it was a fantastic deal for the products. Even at its current price of $72, it’s a pretty good value. Unfortunately, I didn’t like enough of the products to justify the cost.
There were only two products in this collection I adored, the Clay Blush Bronzer in Pink Bronze and the LipSurgence Lip Gloss in True Love. The Clay Blush Bronzer is an amazingly beautiful and diverse product. It features various shades of pink and bronze and adds warmth and dimension to the face. I am always a fan of products that allow me to get multiple looks from one product. If you look carefully, the Clay Blush Bronzer has three rows of color. These “rows” can be created in different ways but the way I connect them makes the bottom row all bronzes, the middle row all pinks, and the top mini row lighter bronze. When the colors are used all together by sweeping your blush brush or large, fluffy brush over the entire product, the results are a soft glow over your cheeks. By concentrating on a certain “row,” the Clay Blush Bronzer doubles as a blush and bronzer. Use the all bronze row for some light contouring and the pink row as a blusher. By separating the colors, this product also serves as a versatile eyeshadow palate. The LipSurgence Lip Gloss in True Love is a beautiful, watermelon shade gloss. It is super-moisturing but not sticky. The best part is that it can be layered for richer color.
Sometimes it is really difficult to return a product that is so AWESOME. It took me a long time to return the Tarte Colored Clay 7-pc Collection because these two products are amazing and were not available for purchase individually. In the end, the Clay Blush Bronzer in Pink Bronze priced at $27 and the LipSurgence Lip Gloss in True Love priced at $19, didn’t equate to the $60 I paid for the collection. Returning it turned out to be a fantastic decision! Tarte has just launched their new LipSurgence Lip Gloss, including the color True Love and a Tarte rep confirmed the Clay Blush Bronzer will launch as a solo product this summer. AWESOME!
Note: If you feel like you just can’t wait for the awesomeness that is the Clay Blush Bronzer in Pink Bronze, there are a few available on Amazon through a couple of sellers with excellent reviews.
