WOW..Is it really New Years ALREADY?!

It has been a massive year. I’ve been focused on my master’s program; I’m wrapping up my thesis now. YAY! I started a new job as a teacher, which is amazing. LOVE IT! All the while, my little ones are growing up.

It has been an amazing year. I’ve grown so much as a writer, professional, and person but that growth has come with some personal sacrifice. I haven’t been able to post as often as I’d like. I’ve been forced to cancel trips with my family because I’ve needed to meet deadlines. I’ve seen a decline in my health. I rely heavily on caffeine — soda and coffee — and sugar to keep me going through my crazy hectic days.

With the new year approaching fast, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want and need for the upcoming year. I don’t like the idea of resolutions, they seem meant to be broken, but I like to set goals for myself for the year. Here are my goals for 2017:

  1. Eat healthier
  2. Exercise more often
  3. Take time to write
  4. Post to my blog
  5. Wake up earlier
  6. Embrace my own beauty
  7. Spend more time with my kids
  8. Find “me” time every day
  9. Attend more conferences/workshops
  10. Meet up with friends once a month
